Our methodology
A buying guide is only worth what its sources are worth. This page explains how we work, what our analyses are, and what they are not.
1. What our analyses are
Our articles and product pages are editorial analyses based on the specifications published by manufacturers, information from their official websites and, where available, user feedback. Unless an article says otherwise, they are not laboratory tests or measurements we carried out ourselves.
2. Where prices and specifications come from
- Specifications (weight, battery range, assistance level, warranty, certifications): taken from data published by the manufacturer. These are stated values, measured under the brand's test conditions; they vary with terrain, your weight and use.
- Prices: taken from brands' official pages, in their original currency (euros or US dollars). We don't silently convert: two prices in different currencies aren't directly comparable.
- Freshness: prices change. Always check the current price with the seller before buying. Articles that have been edited carry an "Updated on" date.
- Different units: when two brands express a specification differently (assistance as a percentage or as horsepower, for example), we say so rather than compare things that can't be compared.
3. How a product enters our catalog
A product is featured when we have a published spec sheet, an identifiable brand and an official place to buy it (manufacturer or reseller). We list the certifications and warranty the manufacturer states, without independently verifying them.
4. Health and safety
Our content is not medical advice. If you have pain, a condition (arthritis, recent surgery, disc herniation...) or any doubt about whether a product suits you, ask a doctor, a physiotherapist or, for work, your occupational health physician. Where possible, health-related figures are tied to their source.
5. Commercial links and independence
Buy buttons lead to the manufacturer's site or a reseller. These links are tagged as commercial links (rel="sponsored" attribute), in line with Google's guidelines. The content of our analyses is not written at the request of brands.
6. User reviews
Reviews left on product pages are moderated before publication. We don't edit ratings or text, and the email address requested is never displayed. A review may be rejected if it is off-topic, abusive or clearly false.
7. Corrections
A mistake, an outdated price, an inaccurate specification? Write to us: we correct it and update the date of the article concerned.
8. Who writes
Articles are written and reviewed by Axel Paupier. For the site's mission and values, see our manifesto.
